Description:
The Warrington Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located outside of Dunedin, needed to reduce its TAN and TN levels.
Lutra provided consulting, design, fabrication, procurement, installation, and commissioning services for a two-stage MBBR to provide total nitrogen removal using sodium hydroxide and acetic acid.
Lutra led several workshops with Dunedin City Council (DCC) including HAZOP, SiD, and risk workshops. Additionally, a programme and project spend budget was maintained throughout the project.
Due to the storage and use of sodium hydroxide and acetic acid onsite, Lutra engaged and worked with HSNO certifiers in the preliminary design phase to prevent project delays and to ensure optimal project outcomes.
